What can I expect during Invisalign treatment?

During your first appointment with Your Community Smile, Dr. Abtahi and her team use the iTero 5D Element to scan your teeth and create custom-fit aligners that fit comfortably over your upper and lower teeth. When your new aligners are ready to wear, keep them in your mouth for 20-22 hours a day. 

Take the aligners out to brush your teeth or eat, and switch to the next set of aligners in your series as instructed by Dr. Abtahi, which is usually after about two weeks. Your Community Smile staff can give you another set of aligners every six weeks until you complete treatment. The average treatment time for Invisalign is 12-18 months long.

How should I care for my aligners?

Keep your aligners clean between uses by brushing them with toothpaste and a toothbrush or using the Invisalign cleaning system. Rinse your aligners with warm water, but avoid hot water. Brush your teeth after meals and snacks, and call Your Community Smile if your aligners get damaged or lost.
