Nitrous oxide, also referred to as laughing gas, is a mild sedative administered through a soft mask placed over the nose. The mask is comfortable to wear and the gas is safe and appropriate for a variety of ages and situations.

When you are actively inhaling nitrous oxide, you will still be awake and be able to communicate. However, the nitrous oxide induces a sense of calm and relaxation. Your limbs may feel a bit tingling, heavy, and/or warm. It’ll be easy to forget the worries you may have about your day.

The relaxing effects of the sedation will wear off when you take the nose mask off and breathe only through your mouth. You won’t experience any lingering drowsiness so it’s safe to resume your normal activities and drive yourself home.
