Same-Day Cerec® Crowns
in Lansdowne, VA
Like traditional dental crowns, Cerec dental crowns are durable dental restorations that are designed to blend in with the surrounding teeth and protect the tooth underneath from damage. Unlike traditional dental crowns, Cerec crowns can be designed, created, and permanently placed in one convenient appointment! Dr. Abtahi is an experienced Cerec dentist in Lansdowne, and she would be happy to assess your smile to see if a same-day dental crown is the right choice for you.Contact Us
What is the same-day Cerec crown process?
The first step in the process involves carefully reshaping the tooth that is receiving a crown and taking impressions of it. These measurements are then used by our on-site milling machine to design a new, custom dental crown. Once it’s been designed to match the surrounding teeth, the crown will be fabricated, and it will be placed over the tooth. After any final adjustments have been made, the process will be complete. Cerec crown appointments allow patients to receive a permanent crown in a single morning or afternoon—no temporary crowns required!
Do dental crown placements hurt?
Your teeth and gums will be numbed using a local anesthetic before the tooth is prepped. You will probably feel pressure on the tooth, but it should not be too uncomfortable. After the numbness wears off when your treatment is complete, it’s likely that the tooth and the area around it will feel a little more sensitive than usual, and we recommend that you chew with the other side of your mouth as much as possible while your new crown settles. Over-the-counter pain medication should be able to relieve any pain or discomfort that arises as well.
Are same-day dental crowns affordable?
We understand that our patients want high-quality, affordable dental crowns that will last many years and won’t break the bank. The cost of your crown will depend on a few different factors, and we can give you an estimate during your consultation. Fortunately, same-day Cerec dental crowns are pretty comparable to traditional dental crowns in terms of price, despite being the more convenient option. Part of this has to do with the fact that there are fewer appointments to schedule, and there is no temporary crown that has to be placed.Financing Your Crown
